Considering the fact that I routinely hit the 16K VAL prior to starting actual city that "dummy traffic" is of little concern.Įven so I expect the road design you describe could be as easily constructed in ether situation so am quite content to take your word for how big a problem it presents. Any tests I've done have shown "dummy traffic" to be somewhere south of. I've only been playing about 18 months which probably explains why I've never experienced "dummy traffic" being a problem or issue. OK I now understand what you mean by "dummy traffic". (Especially ones that need to be fixed outside the unlocked areas.) They don't *all* need to be encountered on the first playthrough. This game has hundreds of learning opportunities.
Or worse, if you put two highways but don't connect them, then connecting them with small roads can make the traffic suddenly start showing up and drive right through downtown as that's the only way between the highways. On the other hand, if you just start by building a highway across the map, all the dummy traffic will go through your start, making it harder to manage traffic.
